Q: What are the new regulations?
A: Comprehensive registration and regulation of cosmetics.
Before June 30, 2024, cosmetics will be managed in two categories: general cosmetics and specific purpose cosmetics.
Specific purpose cosmetics include those with functions such as sun protection, hair dyeing, hair perming, deodorization, teeth whitening, and other specific uses.
After July 1, 2024, cosmetics will no longer be categorized and will be collectively referred to as cosmetics, with comprehensive registration and regulation in place.
"Q: Who can register?
A: Personnel authorized to sign cosmetic safety data.
Qualifications: Graduates from domestic and international programs in cosmetic science, medical science, pharmaceutical science, or toxicology. Prior to June 30, 2019, graduates from chemical engineering or chemistry with at least 5 years of relevant experience in cosmetic safety assessment.
Courses: Must complete a total of 54 hours of training:
1. Cosmetics Regulatory Compliance: 4 hours
2. Application and Risks of Cosmetic Ingredients: 8 hours
3. Methods of Cosmetic Safety Assessment: 36 hours
4. Preparation of Product Safety Assessment Conclusions: 6 hours
Annual Training: 8 hours of training on the Application and Risks of Cosmetic Ingredients.
Responsibilities: Conduct safety assessments from ingredients to products to ensure product safety.
